Mibew Messenger — a FOSS tool for chat reference

Mibew Messenger (also known as Open Web Messenger) is an open-source live support application written in PHP and MySQL. It enables one-on-one chat assistance in real-time directly from your website.”

Mibew is a tool that NEKLS has been using for a  year or so — it enables us to have real-time, IM-client-free communications with our members and others without using a 3rd party service. It was really easy to install (no harder than any other AMP app), and our members love it. It’s completely web-based.

If you are in the market for a real time chat solution that is controlled completely by your institution, this may be the solution for you.
